Topic: Digestive Disorders.

The work we have done deals with major diseases that can affect different parts of the digestive system, among these we find the following: ulcer, gastritis, cirrhosis, hepatitis.

The primary objective is to try to be more informed about all these diseases, as it developed through research based on the analysis of different types of data with which we could achieve better guidance on these conditions that alter the body.

This paper highlights the features of all these different diseases: causes, symptoms, treatments, and other types of information needed to learn more about these discomforts.

Mouth Ulcers surface

There are several ways to present the surface of the mouth ulcerations. There are general alter: the patient presents only intense pain whenever you eat food, the vinegar or lemon juice rekindle pain intensely. After one or two weeks duration, ulcers disappear without trace. Characteristics of this type of aphthous ulcers is its tendency to recur and usually occur in patients with marked background allergic (vasomotor rhinitis, hives, eczema, asthma, etc.).

There are other types of superficial ulcers among which we remember the “acute aphthous stomatitis”, usually by ingesting infected milk from animals that suffer.

All these processes superficial ulcer have one common trait, their kindness. The main thing is to observe good oral hygiene, and ulcers may make based topical treatment with hydrogen peroxide pincelaciones, gentian violet or commercial preparations with antibiotics associated with hydrocortisone. In some cases it can be very beneficial high doses of vitamin B6

Peptic Ulcer

Peptic ulcer is one of the most common diseases, gastric ulcer generally known. A very particular facet of ulcer disease is its predilection for individuals of regions with a high standard of living in contrast to their absence or rarity among individuals of underdeveloped regions.

From the anatomical viewpoint, peptic ulcer is characterized by a loss of substances always located in mucous membranes that are in direct contact with the mucous secretion in gastric always clorhidropptica. This ulceration reaches the muscle layer and may even perforate all layers of the stomach.

There are a number of factors that could be called predisposing, among which are the following:

It is more common in urban than rural.

It is much more common among managers than among workers.

It is a sex-linked disease, for almost two 3/4 of ulcer sufferers are male.

The age at which most often is observed between 20 and 35 years.

They have a very strong hereditary. Regarding the blood, it has been shown that individuals belonging to group 0 are most likely to suffer.

It has been shown that patients with pulmonary emphysema, cirrhotic patients with pancreatic and determined the disease than normal people.

Peptic ulcer formation can occur both by a killer cause increased as by a decrease of defense mechanisms of the gastroduodenal mucosa.

Between 30% and 50% of these patients can be cured completely spontaneously. In the rest, the cyclic evolution of the disease can last up to 60 or 70 years of age when it seems like the healing was a result of the aging of the ulcer.

Certain patients may have a number of complications in its peptic ulcer, bleeding, perforation, organic stenosis and finally the cancerificacin.

Peptic ulcer bleeding. Bleeding can occur at any age but is most common between 40 and 60.

Peptic ulcer perforation. The most serious complication of peptic ulcer perforation is acute. The greatest number of perforations is given in ulcer patients 30 to 40 years old. It is much more common in men than in women.

The most important symptom is pain perforation presenting patients. There are few diseases that can cause such severe pain as drilling.

Organic stenosis peptic ulcer. In deep ulcers, inflammation phenomena perivisceral favor the formation of scar tissue which can reach estenosar the stomach or duodenum.

At other times, severe gastric ulcers can forge and circular scar retractions, producing a real gastric biloculacin.

Malignant degeneration of peptic ulcer. Currently, it seems accepted that from 3% to 5% of gastric ulcers can reach location degenerate.

Peptic ulcer treatment. The doctor or specialist can perform a truly effective treatment. This treatment has two major components: the medical and surgical.

Medical treatment. All peptic simple, uncomplicated, should have a purely medical treatment. The basis of medical treatment should eliminate or reduce stress, inhibit or reduce aggressive factors and increase, if possible, defensive factors.

Surgical treatment. Peptic ulcer complicated by bleeding recurrence, pyloric stenosis or gastric half unbalanced and acute perforation should be treated, usually surgically. Patients whose ulcer outbreaks respond poorly to well-run medical treatment, when the patient cause ulcer outbreaks continued losses in their regular work, in any location antral ulceration and gastric ulcers that do not heal location after a reasonable time (4 to 5 months).

When the technique is an accurate indication, there practically recurrent ulcer. The remaining complications lacks most of the time, of importance with the exception of patients operated, high neurotic personality.

With the term “Gastritis” denotes a number of disorders, inflammatory type-tract, the stomach lining.

There have been numerous classifications of gastritis. The more practice classified into two main types: acute gastritis and chronic gastritis.

Acute Gastritis: They can be exogenous or endogenous. The exogenous acute gastritis or irritative gastritis are caused by any kind of irritating chemical, thermal, mechanical or bacteria that may be taken by mouth. The most common are food and drink extremely hot or cold, spicy, sauces, spices, mustard type and the salicylate-based drugs, chlorides, bromides and iodides. As special cases, we must remember the corrosive gastritis, ingestion of caustic substances and allergic gastritis, foodborne, bacterial or chemical induced mucosal hypersensitivity to these substances.

Chronic Gastritis: It was once believed that when the causes irritative persisted for a long time, was transformed into acute gastritis chronic gastritis. This is at variance with the clinical observation shows that many cases of chronic gastritis showed no irritating background to explain. Currently enjoying great acceptance the hypothesis of an immune mechanism.

Hapatitis called diffuse inflammation liver entire gland, which produces destructive lesions of hepatocytes.

When inflammation returns, all destroyed liver cells are reabsorbed and replaced by new cells regenerated.

Whatever the cause hapatitis causes, clinical manifestations are usually always the same, although the severity of the course of hepatic lesions varies aggressive agent.

Epidemic hepatitis and homologous serum: Most hepatitis epidemic has a common origin, being responsible a filterable virus; epidermal hepatitis caused by the virus that has been naming B or SH. In both hepatitis, clinical and histological lesions are identical, although the virus is always transmitted YH orally, and the incubation period lasts two to four weeks, whereas the SH virus is transmitted by blood inoculation or like with syringe, and the incubation period is between 10 and 20 weeks.

Viral hepatitis is usually manifested by a false picture of influenza (flu-like), characterized by a great weakness and lassitude, lack of appetite, general breakdown associated with joint pain and even headaches of varying intensity. This picture seudogripal takes about 8-10 days, after which the urine darkens to acquire the tone of cognac.

The main base is complete bed rest. This should last at least until the laboratory tests show us that the bilirubin from the blood is back to normal.

The second foundation of good treatment is abundant food, consisting mainly of hydro-carbonated, fruit and vegetables, associating a minimum of about 2g protein. daily per kilogram of body weight.

As background treatment, the patient should take a vitamin supplement, especially B complex, vitamin C associated

Liver Cirrhosis

It is called cirrhosis chronic inflammatory process of evolving nature of self-perpetuation, with diffuse degenerative lesions and necrotizing whole liver parenchyma, associated with a large regenerative capacity of hepatocytes and increased tissue evident, ending distorting the architecture altering normal liver and intrahepatic circulation around the portal system. Continuously evolving or outbreaks, these injuries end up forging portal hypertension, splenomegaly, and ascites completamentaria circulation. In each outbreak, diffuse destruction of hepatocytes is counterbalanced by cell regenerative phenomena varying extent and intensity.

The hepatic cirrhosis, as well as hepatitis, are not a precise etiology diseases. Etiologic factors include stress, because of its importance, three: food shortages, chronic alcoholism and having had viral hepatitis with or without jaundice. Next in importance all the processes that cause jaundice colosttico type and, much less frequently, may appear cirrhosis, after various infectious diseases (malaria, tuberculosis, syphilis, amebiasis, etc..).

Based treatment of cirrhosis, in any of its phases of development, should be broadly the same as we have indicated for viral hepatitis: bed rest; regime without exciting and easily digestible, rich in vegetables and fruits; treatment multivitamin, asociad to cortisone, or their derivatives, in small doses. When ascites occurs, treatment may be added base diuretics.

Our conclusion on this research is that we could be better informed about various diseases that can affect part of our body (digestive system), we observed its symptoms, its causes, its consequences, treatment and how we can try to prevent them. Also we see that some of these diseases can be cured if caught early, otherwise they can cause serious digestive disorders and sometimes may even cause death but is made prevention and treatment needed and appropriate to combat these diseases.
