3.2 PREPARING THE PICTURE WITH MICROSOFT IMAGE COMPOSER
The first step in creating an image map is just to have the image that will define the hyperlinks.
We use the Image Composer.
If you already have the image, all we need is to define the active areas of the same, so you never need to use this application.
If we are locking in the FrontPage Editor, it is best to use Show Image Editor from the Tools menu.
Image Compose to compose a picture from or adding other objects themselves, such as buttons, text, art.
The resulting image is all that appears on the limits of composition, which is the white rectangle shown in the figure below. What is out of the composition was not part of the final image.
The first is to establish the boundaries of the composition, ie the size of the white rectangle.
To set the size of the composition, access the Setup command Composition (Composition Preparation) from the File menu (File). You get the following dialog box, which indicate the pixel dimensions.
Once established the dimensions of the composition, the next step is to add the images or objects that continue. This process is accomplished using the menu
If you have the image in a file, choose From File (From File) and indicate where it is: The image immediately appears in Image Composer may have to move it to display in the composition box.
The image object is inserted as the composition and, as such, can be changed. , For example, to resize, you might use the arrows in their limits.

These hotspots can have any closed shape.

The toolbar on the left of the screen allows you to perform most actions of Image Composer.
Among them, the text is achieved by incorporation of the Text button. After selecting a tool, a window where you can set floating some of the features of these tools.
When we have all the desired features for text, then it’s time to add text objects to the composition. To do this all you have to do is draw a rectangle in the work area, so that the text fits in the space.
The text is part of the composition as a separate object, so you can change any of its features if you selected previously.
If after inserting various objects like text alignment, may do so

We have various options when aligning objects. All of them via buttons Aling section of the floating window. However, keep in mind that you can not automatically undo displacement of an object, but it will have to do it manually.
If you want to try different ways to align objects, it is best to first remember the original position, so that we can return to it quickly. This is accomplished using the Set Home position (set position)
Once you save the starting position, you can always return to this with the Restore button to Home Position (back position).

The first is to keep the composition as such, so that we can return to it and modify it.
Saving the composition in the form of Microsoft Image Composer, keep the original colors because they are stored in True Color (True Color).
Once you have saved the composition as such, we can use the image on our website: as GIF or JPEG. To do this, select Save for the web (Save for Web) in the File menu (File).
The second step is to decide in which format and you want to save the image quality.
If we decide to save the image as a GIF, we decide which color palette.
(GIF images allow a maximum of 256 different colors to represent the image). For JPEG images, no problem, since the image is saved with true color.
